New Parent Training

Newly enrolled families will receive information about learning how to navigate Family Portal (formerly known as FACTS Famiy Portal), our online Student Information System. You will learn how to access Student/Family contact information, Student Medical information, Attendance, Daily Grades, Progress Reports, Lesson Plans, Homework, Discipline, School Directory and other useful school information.

  • What is FACTS? The school utilizes the FACTS Family Portal, an online system that provides parents and students with up-to-date information including student grades, report cards, schedules, school and family directory, and homework. The FACTS Family Portal can be accessed at www.factsmgt.com using the District Code: LA-PHL. Weekly Progress Reports showing current grades are emailed on Sunday evenings, and teachers may send additional reports as needed. While the sources detail the portal’s features, specific training for its use is not explicitly mentioned.

Get Involved

LAI highly values parent involvement as it contributes to the overall development and success of students. Parents are expected to: 

  • Attend Quarterly Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTCs): To stay updated on their child’s academic and behavioral progress, parents are expected to attend meetings with school personnel to monitor their child’s performance and behavior, and to keep the school informed about their child’s health and developmental conditions. PTCs are booked through our LAI PTC Website, which contains the booking links, guides, and tutorials for parents. The link is provided to parents a few weeks before every quarterly PTC.
  • Join the LAI Parent Committee: Parent Officers are elected annually to foster communication, build community, and contribute to the parent community, initiating projects like prayer groups or family fun days. 
  • Attend Parent Learning Community Activities: The school also organizes Parenting Seminars and a Parent Learning Community (PLC) to enhance parenting skills and promote parent-school partnership. 
  • Attend Calendared Parent Events: Parents are expected to attend significant school events such as recognition ceremonies, graduation, and school fairs. These events are designed to celebrate student achievements, foster school spirit, and provide opportunities for parents to connect with teachers, staff, and other families. 

Student Expectations

As members of the LAI community, students are expected to agree to and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the *LAI Learner Handbook.

Uniforms

Students are expected to wear the complete LAI school uniform on all school days, except on designated special occasions. Uniforms are purchased through the LAI Business Office.

Lunch

  • All classes have set recess and lunch schedules. 
  • Students are expected to bring nutritious packed meals and eat them in designated meal areas.
  • Older students will be allowed to buy food from the school cafeteria. 
  • Food deliveries are not permitted. 
  • Students are not allowed to leave campus during school hours or breaks to purchase food.

Aftercare

  • LAI Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • The latest pick-up time for students is 4:00 PM, after which students are expected to wait unsupervised within the building premises until their parents or fetchers arrive. 
  • Student-athletes (varsity players) have a special arrangement, allowing them to be picked up as soon as their training concludes, which is by 6:30 PM at the latest. 
  • Meetings for student organizations, training sessions, and other extracurricular activities that extend beyond 5:30 PM must be communicated to parents in advance. 
  • Students using classrooms for after-school activities must be supervised by a teacher, and a “Use of Facility Request” form must be secured in advance.
  • The school observes a curfew from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM on weekdays, and the school is not responsible for incidents during these hours or during non-school sanctioned activities (e.g., Elevate, D-Group meetings). 
  • Excellence Track™ programs are non-academic and are conducted after class hours. Each program schedule will be released to successful enrollees.
